Perseverance MMA disciplines
Kids Kickboxing – Our kickboxing program teaches various striking techniques from boxing and kickboxing. The kids work on the bags and hit mitts but never hit each other. They learn punches, kicks, elbows, knees and the discipline to not use them outside the gym.
Kids MMA – Our MMA program for children focuses on grappling minus the martial arts outfit known as a gi. They learn wrestling, judo and jiu jitsu techniques to safely submit opponents and/or defend themselves if attacked. They also learn takedowns, throws and submission holds and get to practice with each other under the watchful eyes of our coaching staff.
Kids Jiu Jitsu– This program focuses on the tradition of wearing the martial arts uniform known as a gi. The gi is a helpful tool that can be used when competing in tournaments or rolling in class. This class also consists of takedowns, throws and submissions but with more emphasis on the submission aspect.
Cardio Kickboxing -This is an adult class that uses punching, kicking and throwing knees as a method for a cardiovascular workout. You will learn proper technique to safely strike the bags and sweat away the fat.
Metabolic Madness – This is a 30 minute body shaping metabolic workout. This is the primary exercise method that head coach Rob Kimmons uses to shed 30 plus pounds for his mma fights. The best way to lose fat and gain lean muscle.
PHIIT – Get fit with PHIIT. PHIIT stands for Perseverance High-Intensity Interval Training. This program uses Intense Plyometrics, Bodyweight exercises and mma sport specific exercises in stations to burn calories and shed weight.
Adult Martial Arts
Beginner Kickboxing – We teach a foundation of striking, including proper technique of punching, kicking, knees, elbows and the combinations of them. It is a great introduction to the striking arts (Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai) before moving on to the advanced classes with sparring.
Intermediate/Advanced Kickboxing – In this class we further the striking skills through sparring and more challenging drills.
Beginner No-Gi Jiu Jitsu – In this class you will learn the building blocks of no-gi jiu-jitsu and grappling. We teach the fundamentals of wrestling, judo and jiu-jitsu to create a well-rounded ground game. You will learn takedowns, throws and submissions.
Intermediate/Advanced No-gi Jiu Jitsu – This is just a further study into the art of ground fighting. This class focuses more on the application of the techniques through drilling and rolling.
Beginner MMA – This beginner course is mostly learning how to mix striking with the grappling techniques. You will also learn instruction on striking a grounded fighter, ring control, using strikes as a setup and much more but without actually striking each other.
Intermediate/Advanced MMA – This is where we start to mix everything up and actually spar one another. Anyone wanting to participate in a mma match must be a regular in this particular class. A few examples of this class include; kickbox with takedowns, roll on the ground with striking and ground and pound drills.
Beginner Gi Jiu Jitsu – This is the basic traditional Jiu Jitsu martial art that has been passed down from the samurai of Japan. We wear the traditional martial arts uniform called a gi and learn takedowns, sweeps, counters and submissions in this class.
Intermediate/Advanced Jiu Jitsu – In this class we get to try the techniques learned in the basic class through rolling.
